    MSF targets drivers

Motorcycles MSF targets drivers Motorcyclists are at a distinct disadvantage in traffic. They’re smaller, and therefore harder to see, and studies have shown that car drivers just aren’t looking for motorcycles when scanning the traffic ahead and next to them. To help driver awareness of motorcycles on the roads, the Motorcycle Safety Foundation has put together an excellent Web site called For Car Drivers. The Web site features quick tips for car drivers, as well as video outlining the most common car/motorcycle accidents at intersections and on the open road. - By Craig Fitzgerald

I went and took a look at the site. While I'm glad it's there, I don't know that it's going to get the attention of any but the most safety-conscious drivers.

    Any thoughts?

I think it is a great start, but I think we all need to promote it in our own communities- increase the awareness, get the word out there to non- motorcyclists.  I have the "Look twice- save a life" sticker on my car, but I think that campaign needs to go further- I think we need to connect with people, and educate them on why motorcycles behave the way they do in traffic, and to make us more "HUMAN" and not just "a biker". You can purchase the intersections training module and go to community groups and lead the discussion... it has 3 different videos geared towards different groups- one especially for teenage drivers... you could offer to go to a local high school driver ed class and lead this discussion.

We are everywhere. Lets start showing everyone that.
