    UPDATED: 10:04 am EDT October 4, 2006

A King of Prussia woman was killed in a truck-versus-motorcycle accident involving two Pennsylvania residents in Maryland Tuesday afternoon.

State police said the 43-year-old King of Prussia woman killed was a motorcycle safety instructor in suburban Philadelphia.

Her motorcycle struck a truck driven by a Lancaster man when he made a left-hand turn on Route One in Cecil County.

Police did not release the victim’s name.

The truck driver, 37-year-old Jose Torres-Arroyo, was ticketed for negligent driving and failure to yield the right of way while turning.

A woman riding on another motorcycle with the crash victim was not injured, police said.

    Motorcycle Awareness - Key?

are we as motorcyclist doing all we can to be seen? More of us then ever are riding with retro-reflective clothing and brighter clothing or safety vest or a combination, but yet there are still many more who are riding with black clothing or leathers and go unnoticed. Headlight modulators, and thing we can do to raise motorist attention is going to help, but invittibly you have that one cager who "didn't see them"

    Re: Motorcycle Awareness - Key?

Car drivers are very aware of other car drivers but there are still fatal accidents. I believe the quality of the car drivers is a major factor. Any fool can get a car licence. Because of that, I believe we and our skills are the deciding factor on our survival. A rider wont last long depending on cagers to do the right thing each day.

My skill and experience have kept me accident free for my 20+ years of riding every day. I dont give the car drivers any credit for being aware of anything.

I agree with Squid Killer. Your riding skills, and defensive and sometimes offensive riding techniques will save your life.

I assume in this accident she did not even have a chance.

    Re: Motorcycle Awareness - Key?

Safe driving should be keep as the prime factor, because we all familiar with accidents, some of accidents will lead to death, think about your family before riding without control over speed.
